In June, Jim and I went to Europe for two weeks. Jim has been
studying German for a couple of years and he was itching to use
it. I just hadn't been to Europe in a while and thought it'd be
great to go. Jim's wife, Ab, just said "Have fun, boys!"

| Summer, 2002
I bought a Trooper in San Diego and drove it to Austin, TX. I
stayed with my mom for the summer then drove to Connecticut for
Abbyann's annual family gathering. I then pivked up a friend that
flew into New York and we drove back to San Diego via Maine.
Bertrand called this travelling (with camping and biking)
"Seelenverwandtschaft". A poor translation would be "spiritual
affinity".

Mar., 2001 to May, 2002
This website got started as a journal for my trip around the world with my ex-wife,
Martha. We left San Diego in Mar, 2001 and returned in May, 2002.
Travelling is a great way to really get to know someone,
especially when you are together 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
Our marriage didn't survive the trip, but I will still recommend
travelling to others when they ask. If you travel well together,
and I saw many couples that did, then you can become very close.
