We stumbled upon this hotel while we were looking for another
one. Turns out that The Grand Natia
just opened in July of this year, there is very little publicity - so nobody
knows about it. This is a 4 four star accomodation right along the water ...and we got it for under $15.00 U.S. per night (including
breakfast)!! We like this place so much, we're staying here until we fly out
to Thailand. These prices won't last long ...especially when word gets
out.
Candidasa was a great area to get some peace and relaxation. There
aren't as many hawkers here, so you can actually walk more than 2 feet
without someone trying to sell you something. We did lots of snorkeling, reading,
sunbathing, swimming, and EATING (a bit too much of that)! The seafood here
is very good and very inexpensive. The locals go out fishing every morning, so
everything here is fresh.
Our last night in Candidasa, our hotel had a farewell pig roast for Yuki. Yuki is a Japanese tourist who had
stayed at the hotel since it opened in July. The hotel was kind enought to
invite everyone. We enjoyed all the wonderful foods - suckling pig, seafood
soup, and many other delicious side dishes that we didn't recognize, but ate
just the same. A great way to end our stay in Candidasa.
Take a walk thru of the Grand Natia
Hotel.
