We left Ubud after a few days and went to Mt. Batur. This is a very scenic volcano -
dramatic peaks and a cool lake. We stayed in the small town of Toya Bungkah at the base of the volcano.
We did a sunrise volcano climb ...which
started at 4 a.m.. It took about 2 hours to reach the top of the volcano.
Unfortunately, we never saw anything at the top due to heavy fog ...we didn't
even see the sunrise! But, we did get a lot of exercise!! We started to get
some nice views as we climbed back down and the fog began to lift.
