Mountain Biking

Getting ready to ride...
Our ride on Sat. was tough. We only rode ~12 miles but we climbed for over 2000'. We started on the rim of a river valley, rode down and crossed a bridge, then climbed the other side. We then dropped down again, had a swim and the climbed back up to the cars.

While driving to the next campsite, we stopped to re-group and these people came out and put a dog in the rear-pannier of one of the bikes. Very strange, so I got a photo.
Our campsite Sat. night. There was a nice swimming hole a mile up the trail.
Our Sunday ride included a shuttle to the top. We started in Downieville, CA, which is a very quaint town. We piled on the bikes onto a van and got a lift to the top (not free).
Tim and I wanted to catch an early flight home while the rest of the guys were just going to drive back to the bay are that night. So we took the direct way down and they took a longer route that included a climb. Over 4000' down in ~16 miles. It was a blast! It still took us just more than 2hrs and we were worn out, but it was great too!
