Sailing
The Freja started as a 'Karve', LTp119, and The Zephyr as a Large Sloop,
'Swashbucklers' p116, with various web references. I then adjusted them to
fit the 4e vehicles, pB464 and pF142.
- TR - you can turn 60deg (one hexside) for every TR hexes
travelled in a straight line. This is a variant of the high-speed
movement (pB394) where I assume a minimal lateral acceleration: instead of
(move^2 / 10) (one 'G') I use (move^2 / 2).
- Tacking - Sailing ships tack, and they do it in about one hull
length. I interpret this as requiring a "control roll", pB466, with
a large vehicle. To speed things up I average the skills (+Hnd) rather
than the results...
'Control Roll'
- A failure by ≤ SR - lose that many seconds and new speed = 0 (you must re-acclerate)
- failure by more than SR - as above + lose and an additional 2d secs
- only on a critical failure does something break
