Fergus (and everyone else can hear) and Gortahork exchange insults telepathically alaonf the ley lines. Gorthork send the slamander in to "destroy them all!". Crossing into the stone circle, Gorthork's control of the salamander is temporarily nullified. The salamander dances for joy with Bruce (the "salamander" of the Tor). Fergus questions the salamander, it decides it will take this inquisitive human back to the volcanoe with it. Fergus and the salamander disappear. Andrea (in "Beast Possesion" of a wyvern), steps on Bruce, holding him down. the rest of the heros are down as is most of Gortahork's party. Cigfa sits on Bruce's chest and hisses at the Wyvern. Andrea releases Bruce who then kills Gortahork. Or rather the warrior's body that Gortahork was possesing.
| Kerin,Rahne,Bruce | the battle over, the party on the Tor rest and recuperate under Rahne's ministrations. Rahne uses the power of the Tor to enhance his armor. The Tor's fire and power will stop at dawn. | |||||||
| Fergus | Fergus and the salamander discuss it's life, etc. The salamander
takes Fergus to Andrea. Andrea has had her inner organs removed
and placed in a magical chest. Andrea can walk and talk and act
normal, but Gortahork has her complete loyalty thru the
enchantments in the chest.
Eventually the salamander is puzzled because Gortahork has not chosen to re-assert his control one the salamander. They go in and look at his sleeping body. They realize that his soul has returned to it, thus his possessed body must be dead. The salamander hates the control that Gortahork has on him, but he cannot directly harm Gortahork or cause him to come to harm. Fergus realizes, as the salamander is telling him this, that the salamander has purposely let Fergus get between the sslamander and Gortahork. Fergus knows that the salamander has permitted him one second to kill Gortahork before Gortahork's compulsion forces the salamander to protect Gortahork. Fergus acts, killing Gortahork and freeing the salamander. The salamander, a fickle creature, dances for joy burning everything he touches. Fergus cuts off Gortahork's head as the salamander begins to dance on the body. Fergus and Andrea quickly take what they can from Gortahork's laboratory before the salamander gets loose in there. They then go release Bearn (stuck in bear form) and use a ley line to travel to the Tor past Gortahork's guards on the mountain.
