Wiñet Races
There are five major races of intelligent, bipedal creatures on Wiñet:
- Thregans – This is the name used to refer to Homo Sapiens. No
one knows where the name came from.It is just what they have called
themselves for as long as anyone can remember.
- Elves – Who live as slaves in most of Wiñet due to their part
in propping up the Demon Lord during the years of the Triumvirate.
- Dwarves – Who almost all live in the Merchant City of Melat
on the Flat of Midart. There is antipathy between Elves and Dwarves
stemming for the fall of the Triumvirate when, just before the final
battle, the Dwarves, who had been the keepers of the Triumvirate’s
infrastructure, made the intelligent choice to jump the sinking ship and
threw in with the Thregans. The Elves tell the story somewhat differently.
- Duathians – No one really knows what a Duathian looks
like. They live in the islands that form the outer boundary of the
Duathian and Inner Seas, keep completely to themselves and defend this
isolationism very effectively.Until Larabie Systems Inc. changed the
political map of Wiñet (see below), they were the only source of serious
magitech and therefore the most powerful group on the continent.
- Tou Thanatou Sauria – This race of bipedal lizards come in
all sorts of sizes and shapes, from four armed giants that are feared as
the most potent warriors on the continent to shriveled little guys with
barely functioning arms and legs with eidetic memories and the ability to
calculate any sum instantly with several variations in between.Other
types are rumored to exist, such as the silent invisible assassin class,
but these are written off as mostly urban legends. The TTS are a slave
race to the Duathians. Some say that the race was created by the
Duathians, although other legend say that they were the original
inhabitants of Wiñet before the Dwarves Elves and Thregans arrived about
5000 years ago (the Duathians appeared for who knows where about the time
the Triumvirate was defeated.)
